Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Her feature film debut was a small role on the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody was a model when she was approached by a hopeful photographer. She has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody avoided nude and glamour work, a rule she carried over to her acting. After receiving notice from the directors of casting for an upcoming James Bond new film, Doody took a small part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of the twelve most promising young actors in the year 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody, who was only 18 when she played the part of Doody in the movie A Prayer for the Dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke, is the youngest Bond girl who has a name to her. Another early movie had her in a minor role in the role of IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) that featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 TV adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. Doody was Sapsorrow in the Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The first time she appeared was in the 1988 movie Taffin opposite Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors in the role of James Bond. In the year 1991, Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. After moving to Hollywood, Doody became an international star. She was chosen to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman and went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend on the film Major League II. Doody was part of the 2004 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration in recognition of an award. Her roles include the TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust, and a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010 Doody shot a part in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She later guest starred in the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. The year 2011 saw her debut on the first season of two in the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary. The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was awarded to her on November 21 in 2018. The actress also was given an award on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
